Here Are Some Ways You Can Help

Sneha is a volunteer-supported non-profit organization. Donations to Sneha are tax- exempt to the fullest extent allowed by IRS Code: Section 501(c)3. Please contact us if you need more information.

We need funds in order to: 

  • operate the toll-free help line
  • logistical support (driving to court appearances, office supplies, liaison with local agencies) 
  • emergency fund for the neediest cases 

The simplest way to support the work of Sneha is by becoming a member of the organization. There are three levels of membership: 


General member General member dues are $25 a year, payable upon joining and to be renewed by February of each year. General membership is a path to board membership on the recommendation of two members and a majority vote of the full board group. General members can actively participate in Sneha’s mission in the follwoing ways:
  • Help in the planning of book/movie discussions and other events 
  • Act as Sneha liaison and contact person in your town/county/corner of the state
  • Spread word about Sneha's listening and information services 
  • Help with fundraising
  • Propose future projects for Sneha 
Supporting member If you are not ready or able to actively participate in Sneha’s activities, consider supporting Sneha's mission by becoming a supporting member. As a supporting member you can participate in all Sneha-sponsored public events and you may switch to general member status at any time. (How much does it cost?) 
Board Member Members of the Board are responsible for the day-to-day core activities of Sneha - manning the help line, handling cases, contacting local community groups and organizations, maintaining the web site, responding to emails and so on. 

A General Member becomes a Board Member by a process of nomination-vote and a commitment to the work of Sneha.
